Carlos Meléndez Véliz was born in Santiago, Chile. He received the Lic. degree in electrical engineering in 2015 from the University of Santiago, Chile, and actually he is
finishing his studies to pursue the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the same university. His thesis is based in control strategies for a Double Fed Induction Generator equipped with a Modular Multilevel Matrix Converter, under asymmetrical voltage dips, guided by Dr. Ing. Matías Díaz. His research interests include modular multilevel cascade converters, wind energy conversion systems, and modelling and control systems of electrical machines. He has worked in the University of Santiago as part-time lecturer in topics such as power electronic, laboratory of machine drive, electrical control systems and thesis projects.
